One of my local friend took me to this restaurant and I was quite disappointed. Although the atmosphere was great, the food was mediocre and the service was poor The lady server was rude, had an attitude and took the wrong order. The Frites fried chicken and the kids’ fish and chips were tasteless. The portion of the rib special was generous. The food was overpriced relative to the quality.
Beef steak cook perfectly for medium rare. Overall food is good. Kids are entertained with colors and puzzle pamphlet given, while parents can still enjoy their drink and meal..
Tuesday, I finished work early and decided to meet my girlfriend in Wan Chai. She had reserved a table for us at FRITES, and we chose to sit outside since there were plenty of seats available. After browsing the menu, we ordered the Tuesday special - a steak and lobster combo - and a plate of Mediterranean-style mussels.
Our food arrived quickly, and the mussels were served with fries and a slice of bread. The bread was a bit too hard for our liking, but the fries were perfect - thick and delicious. Though the mussels were slightly smaller than we expected, they had a wonderful flavor that got better and better with each bite.
The steak was cooked to a perfect medium and had a great texture and maturity level. However, we both agreed that it would have been even better if it were a bit thicker. The lobster had a firm texture and tasted fresh, and we were both pleased with our meal overall.
Considering the price, the quality of the food was decent. Next time we plan to return on Monday for the all-you-can-eat mussels, which we're both looking forward to.
I ordered the firecracker salmon and sole meuniere. Both dishes taste good and properly seasoned.
The waitresses are friendly, but she missed one of our happy hour drink orders.
The atmosphere was not the best because ACs were not fully running. Quite hot indoors.
I had a great time at this restaurant last night! The waitresses were incredibly attentive and friendly, making me feel right at home. They even remembered my request for a big glass of ice water filled with ice cubes and made sure to bring me a new glass as soon as I finished. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great service and delicious food.
I visited Frites at Brim 28 on a Tuesday and was surprised to find it packed and busy. Definitely a good atmosphere and a nice venue with some good outdoor seating as well. Food was great, there are weekdays specials and for Tuesday it was "Surf n Turf" with lobster and steak for HKD350. Food was good, especially the steak and price is very reasonable. Shared the classic Frites mussels with friends. Went home very full and satisfied. Will visit again. Happy hours runs until 8pm, better than most places in Central...
Food was spot on, authentic. Just like in Belgium. The service….terrible. The waitress continued to emphasize that the all you can eat was not for sharing. Look, we get it.
Pretty good Executive Lunch sets. Though you have to adjust the way you order steak. If you want a true medium rare, you'll need to order a medium well. Their idea of medium rare is pretty raw and purple. At first I thought it was just an accident, but it happened to all our orders and the maitre d came by and explained their standard of doneness. He was kind enough to replace the steak with a "medium well" and we all lived happily ever after. Burp!
